The Churún - Meru or Angel Falls is located in the Canaima National Park with an extension of 3,000,000 hectares.
El Salto has a height of 978 meters, considered the highest in the world. The natives call it Kerepakupai-Meru and means "jump deeper place."
The drop comes from the Auyantepuy, perhaps an ancient stone about 2100 million years old, declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 1994. The river which follows is called Churún, a tributary of Carrao river downstream form Canaima Salto, which in turn is a tributary of the Caroni and Orinoco it. Roads, kilometers and kilometers of water ways. Protective shield stone and water that hid from the predatory hands of the conquerors this sacred land of the Pemon.
